The Merger of Defunct FATA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the Greatest Event of the History

Peshawar 29 April 2019: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister Finance Taimur Salim Jahgra and KP
Government Spokesman Ajmal Khan Wazir have said that the merger of
defunct FATA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the greatest event of the history
in the world after the merger of East and West Germany.
The taking over of the responsibilities of all the 27
departments, the abolition of FATA secretariat and the introduction,
enforcement of the comprehensive legal system of the rest of the country
and taking up unprecedented development and welfare schemes were made
possible by the commitment of PTI particularly the Prime Minister Imran
Khan, they said.
Addressing a joint Press Conference at the Pakhtunkhwa House, Islamabad
they pointed out that during short span of a few months, the PTI
government has introduced the independent monitoring system in education
in these merged districts with the help of which absenteeism of teachers
has been completely eradicated and now for the first time the students
have been facilitated and the standard of education brought on a par
with those of other parts of the country.
They pointed out that this merger was a great challenge and a gigantic
task but immediately after taking over, the PTI government took it upon
itself and within a short span of six months all the 27 departments were
merged with the Provincial ones. Of them the merger of the levy force
was not a simple task but they were not only taken over but upgraded to
the level of modern police and thus the modern police system too
introduced there.
The same they said is the case with health department and facilities as
the hospitals are monitored on daily basis and wherever any deficiency
may be either of doctors, nurses or any other para medic staff is
noticed, it is addressed on urgent basis. On the other hand in view of
the sufferings of the people of those districts, the health saholat
program has been extended to the whole of the population while for
poverty eradication and promotion of employment opportunities, loans and
financial assistances are advanced to the youth under the insaf rozgar
scheme without any discrimination.
They also said that in view of the topography and scarcity of energy in
these districts, solarisation program has been implemented throughout
these districts and thus almost all mosques have already been provided
solar energy.
With regard to the provision of funds the Finance Minister said that
hardly a week passes when no meeting is conducted with the federal
government for reviewing the development schemes of these districts and
assured that there will be no problem with that. He disclosed that both
the Federal and Punjab Government had already assured to fulfil their
commitments to the uplift of these merged districts.
With regard to the visits of PTI leaders, they said that it was for the
first time in the history of the country that a Prime Minister has
visited six of these seven districts in such a short span of time and
having addressed such a huge public meetings there. On the other hand,
the Chief Minister KP and his cabinet members are continuously visiting
each and every part of these districts so that the progress on these
numerous welfare schemes is properly monitored and its timely execution
ensured.
In response to a question, Ajmal Khan Waszir said that these were the
promises of PTI with the people of these districts and the people of
Pakistan and they were acting upon fulfilling their promises. Both the
leaders said that peace and prosperity in these districts will bring
about peace and prosperity to the country and the region.
