The film gives us a behind the scenes look at Michelle Obama’s 34-city book tour for her bestselling book of the same name.
Mala Obama is currently junior at Harvard University and Sasha, who is a freshman at the University of Michigan. They
admitted their mother doesn’t “face the same scrutiny” since they left the White House in 2017.
The interview marks one of the first from the girls.
Malia talking about her family time at White House, she said “Being able to let all of that leave your mind, creates so much more space.”
Sasha Obama said “I’m excited for her to be proud of what she’s done. Because I think that that’s the most important thing for a human to do, is be proud of themselves.”
The Netflix series follows the tour of the book, which was moderated by the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Stephen Colbert.
“You’re so good, I love you too much.” Malia said to her mum.
Malia admitted that she cried while watching her mother on stage.
When she was asks by her mother that why she always crying,
she gushes about her achievements, saying she loves seeing people acknowledging her hard work.
“You see that huge crowd out there and that last kind of speech you gave about — people are here because people really believe in hope and hope in other people.” She explained.
