Quaid-i-Azam University: Readers Conference Urged Students to Develop Reading Habits.

Islamabad 2 May, 2019: Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Library Society in collaboration with Read Pakistan organized “Readers Conference” here on Thursday. The objective of the conference was to encourage students for developing habit of wide reading in all genres and to set future reading goals.

Ms. Zartaj Gul, Minister of State for Climate Change attended the conference as Chief Guest. While addressing the conference she said, in this digital age youth is overloaded by the information but the knowledge is lost. She urged the students to develop a habit of reading, connect with the book for acquiring knowledge.

The Minister of State also lauded the efforts of the organizers for providing students an amazing opportunity of learning. The speakers of the conference including Prof. Dr. Sayed Wiqar Ali Shah, Acting Vice Chancellor and Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, QAU, delivered a talk on cultivating reading culture in the digital age, Muhammad Anwar, Co-founder “The Learning School” on the role of books in human development,

Mr. Farrukh Dall, Assistant Attorney General and Chairman Read Pakistan on making Pakistan a knowledge economy and Admiral (R) Asif Sandila, former Chief of Naval Staff on the need of education in Pakistan. A large number of students, faculty members and staff attended the conference.
