New Zealand lifts all social distancing restrictions, declaring the nation ‘virus-free’
New Zealand has lifted all domestic coronavirus restrictions after its final COVID-19 patient was given the all clear.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in a televised address said we are confident we have eliminated transmission of the virus in the country for now.
Ardern said restrictions such as social distancing and limits on public gatherings were no longer needed but strict border controls will remain in place.
