Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi have not yet given their endorsement to Kamala Harris for the presidency

Former President Barack Obama, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer have yet to clarify their stance on endorsing Kamala Harris for the presidential nomination. This comes despite a strong show of support from various Democratic Party leaders on Sunday, as reported by Politico.
In a Medium post, former President Barack Obama acknowledged the uncertain path ahead, expressing confidence in the party’s leadership to navigate these uncharted waters and produce an exceptional nominee. However, Obama stopped short of officially endorsing Harris for the presidency. His endorsement is anticipated to be crucial, especially with the Democratic National Convention scheduled in Chicago from August 19 to 22, held in Obama’s hometown.
Following Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi praised Biden extensively but did not indicate her endorsement of Harris. Pelosi’s remarks highlighted Biden’s patriotism, vision, values, and leadership, underscoring his significant impact on American history.
After receiving President Biden’s endorsement for the presidential nomination, Harris garnered support from notable Democrats including former President Bill Clinton and former Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. The Clintons expressed their honor in endorsing Vice President Harris and pledged their support to her campaign.
Congressman Ro Khanna also endorsed Kamala Harris, emphasizing her historic candidacy as the first African American woman and first Asian American to potentially lead the Democratic Party. He portrayed Harris’s candidacy as injecting hope and a forward-looking vision into the party.
Representing South Carolina’s 6th Congressional district, Congressman Jim Clyburn echoed President Biden’s endorsement of Harris. He praised Biden’s judgment in selecting Harris and affirmed his support for her candidacy to succeed Biden as the Democratic Party’s nominee for the 2024 presidential election.
The focus now for Harris’s supporters is to secure sufficient backing to clinch the nomination at the upcoming Democratic National Convention. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, often mentioned as a potential vice presidential running mate for Harris, urged unity within the party to rally behind Harris and concentrate on winning the presidency.
With the Democratic National Convention looming in Chicago just a month away, the challenge ahead is formidable. Donald Trump has already gained momentum, underscoring the urgency for a united Democratic front to reclaim the initiative and compete effectively in the upcoming election.
