The ‘2nd National Summer School of Social Work’ on ‘Promoting the Importance of Human Relationships’ concludes

Peshawar: The “2nd National Summer School of Social Work” was organized under the auspices of the Department of Social Work, University of Peshawar to nurture the creativity and personality of the young generation.
The online three-day summer school was titled “Promoting the Importance of Human Relationships” in which National and International delegates from various walks of life presented their research papers and Participants were briefed on field experiences and challenges faced by Social Work Profession across the globe, and teamwork for social and welfare services.
The Summer School was organized with the joint efforts of the Department of Social Work, University of Calgary, Canada and the Community World Service-Asia, which included students from the Department of Social Work at the University of Peshawar, the University of the Punjab and the University of Sindh Jamshoro as well as students from other faculties.
9 National and 12 Foreign speakers including members of the Social Work faculty and social workers teaching in various universities from Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Japan and India also participated.

Dr. Muhammad Ibrar, organizer of the Summer School, Assistant Professor at Department of Social Work, spoked on the occasion that the summer school aims to highlight the importance of Social Work in Pakistan and prepare the younger generation for “future leadership”.
He further said that in this three-day program, the participants were given lectures by the experienced Social Work experts on the role of young generation in the development of society, fostering an atmosphere of tolerance and dialogue, adoption of realistic thinking and various aspects of social development, and shared field experiences with them.
Organizers of the Summer School further said that the way was paved for the participants attending the school from all over the country to strengthen their consensus, liaison and inter-provincial co-ordination with regard to humanitarian services, and recognition of Social Work Profession in Pakistan.
