Replays have shown that Messi moved the ball closer to goal before he scored his stunning freekick against Liverpool on Wednesday.
The Argentina star player Messi put down the ball at least three metres closer to Alison’s goal than where he was originally fouled by Fabinho.
Referee Bjorn Kuipers didn’t notice and Messi was able to bend the ball into the top corner to score his 600th goal for Barcelona.
