Donald Trump: We Are Terminating Our Relationship With World Health Organization (WHO)

The White House: United States President Donald Trump while giving media briefing on Minneapolis Unrest, China Crisis and COVID-19 Pandemic has said that we are now terminating our relationship with World Health Organization (WHO).

President Donald Trump Added ” World Health Organization (WHO) has failed to make the requested and greatly needed reforms, so we will be today terminating our relationship with World Health Organization”.

The funds that we have given to World Health Organization over the periods are now redirecting to other World wide and deserving urgent global health needs.

Earlier on the World Health Organization has responded to the Donald Trump decision to halt WHO funds. “We regret the decision of the President of the United States to order a halt in funding to the World Health Organization,” said Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

According to the WHO’s website, the US has been the agency’s top benefactor, accounting for more than 14% of the agency’s financing at around $400 million a year.

Other top donors include the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the GAVI Vaccine Alliance, a public-private health initiative committed to immunization in poor countries.
